Goodwill’s York County Jobs Alliance Hosts Job Seekers
Networking Event Features Guest Speaker Bonita Pothier from Senator Angus King’s Office
Saco – The York County Jobs Alliance (YCJA) will host a networking event of jobseekers and employers on Tuesday, June 18, from 11 am to 12:30 pm at University College in Saco (110 Main Street). This annual celebration recognizes individuals and local businesses who have worked with Goodwill during the past year to connect jobseekers with employment opportunities.
The event features guest speaker Bonita Pothier from Senator Angus King’s office. “We are thrilled to have Bonita Pothier join us to celebrate the success of our program participants as well as to educate us on workforce and community initiatives underway to create more jobs in our Maine communities, ” notes Ryan Anderson, YCJA facilitator.
Three past program participants will share their success stories of how they were able to navigate their work transition and secure employment via the YCJA. Current jobseekers will be entered to win door prizes donated by local businesses. The event will close with a light lunch and time for jobseekers and businesses to network.
Over 50 local businesses and community organizations have been invited. The event is free and open to job seekers in York County. To RSVP please call Ryan Anderson by June 14 at: (207) 571-3301, or email: ryan.anderson@goodwillnne.org.
The YCJA is a service offered by the Goodwill Workforce Solutions Center in Biddeford. The group meets the first and third Tuesday of each month and is open to individuals residing in York County. The meetings provide a welcoming space for sharing ideas about employment through open discussion, networking and support.
